NCLA schedules are not finalized until we are able to confirm coaching and field schedules which may not be until MarchWhile NCLA makes an effort to coordinate with other youth sports programs when creating the master schedule, we expect NCLA lacrosse to be a player's priority during the spring sports season for grades 5-8. Neither late registration fees nor the refund processing fee of $25 will be waived for any scheduling reasons for any programs.

BOYS BOX LAX HOUSE LEAGUE FOR GRADES 5-8:

For this program, we will be creating a Box Lacrosse House League.   The league will be structured to allow all players to play together on teams.   We will create “lines” for each team based on skill level, size, and experience.  For example, when two teams compete in a game, both “Line 1s” will play at the same time, then "Line 2s" and "Line 3's" will compete.   Each line will play a 2-minute shift.   This model has been used in other sports and will allow all players to be together, while making sure we create a competitive and safe environment.    Teams will be 12-15 players per team (5 v 5 or 4 v 4 games).

The program has been designed to offer 6 indoor game days.   During the 60-minute time slot, every player will participate in 5-minute warm-up, 10 minutes of wall ball drills, and then play a 45-minute box lacrosse game.  We will be using small goals, suiting up goalies in box lacrosse equipment (parents / volunteers are welcome to play goalie), and using scoreboards & shot clocks.

These house league games will be played in the NCHS Gyms (Main and Aux).   We will have three playing fields (the main gym will be divided with a wall divider in the middle of the gym).

We will ask that all players arrive 20 minutes early, so the Coaches and Volunteers can organize all the boys in correct colors to play games. Please bring your New Canaan pinnie.  If you do not have one, please let us know.

Players will be required to wear all equipment.

We would like to create teams prior to the first game day.  Therefore, all players who would like to participate in this program MUST register before the first game day.  Any player who is NOT registered will not be allowed to play.

Similar to last year, we will be combining grades to optimize the space we have reserved.

If we get some warm days and the turf fields are open, we may move the games outside and extend the amount a time to 90 minutes. TBD

The NCHS Coaching Staff will be Coaching and Refereeing all games.  Volunteers are welcome.

The program will have no make-up dates. The program price has been kept low, in case a March winter storm comes and the schools have to be closed. In addition, we understand some players may not be able to make every session.  We have included in the registration sign-up a section where families can write notes about missing dates.  If possible, we would like to know of any conflicts that players may have so we can properly make teams for each session.  The more information we know, the better we can plan and create equal teams.    We understand we can not forecast a player missing due to being sick, but we can plan for a player missing due to a hockey playoff game or wrestling banquet.

We know players will be excited to play these games!
