The Spring Program

1st & 2nd Grades
Wednesday: 5:00-6:00pm at East School
Sunday: 2:00-3:00pm at East School
3rd & 4th Grades
Monday: 4:30-5:30pm East School
Wednesday: 5:30-6:30pm Water Tower Turf
Saturday: 4:00-5:00pm Water Tower Turf
5th & 6th Grades
Tuesday: 5:30-7:00pm Water Tower Turf
Thursday: 5:30-7:00pm Water Tower Turf
Saturday 10:30am -12pm Water Tower Turf
7th & 8th Grades:
Monday: 5:30-7:00pm Water Tower Turf

Grades 1 & 2
* Cost: $190
* Cost includes: NCLA shorts and a practice shirt
* Players are grouped according to GRADE, not AGE
* Grade Coordinator: Jude Cooney
* Focus will be on learning to love the game of lacrosse and basic skills, including catching, throwing, scooping, shooting. Fun contests and small field games will evolve in the season. Coached by parent volunteers, based on a professionally developed curriculum
Grades 3 & 4
* Cost: $290
* Cost includes: NCLA shorts and a practice shirt, and a house pinney
* Players are grouped according to GRADE, not AGE
* Grade Coordinator: 3rd - Amanda McNichol, 4th - Sarah Patterson
* 2 1-hour weekday practices and 1 Saturday 7 v7 house game
* Coached by parent volunteers, based on a professionally developed curriculum
* Girls to be split into equal teams
* Equal playing time in games
* No travel
* Season culminates with the New Canaan Jamboree in early June
Grade 5:
* Cost: $375
* Cost includes game skort, game pinney, practice pinney

* Roster Size: up to 22
* Up to 3 teams/grade will be created *
* Players play according to the following birthdates: September 1, 2005 – August 31, 2006. If your 5th grader was born prior to September 1, 2005, she must be registered with the 6th grade, or you may petition the CONNY Board to stay in 5th grade
* Every player plays in each game - provided they meet the program’s requirements for conduct and attendance
* If a player misses the practice immediately preceding a game, they will not start in the game
* Play to Develop - winning is a high priority, but second to developing good long term skills
* Play time based on coach’s discretion, informed by ability, attitude, effort, sportsmanship and coachability
*the NCLA will decide the structure (A,B, C or A, B1, B2) and number of teams per grade based on each grade’s registration numbers.
Grade 6:
* Cost: $375

* A, B and C teams tiered
* Players play according to the following birthdates: September 1, 2004 – August 31, 2005. If your 5th grader was born prior to September 1, 2004, she must be registered with the 7th grade, or you may petition the CONNY Board to stay in 6th grade
* Every player plays in each game - provided they meet the program’s requirements for conduct and attendance
* If a player misses the practice immediately preceding a game, they will not start in the game
* Play to Develop - winning is a high priority, but second to developing good long term skills
* Play time based on coach’s discretion, informed by ability, attitude, effort, sportsmanship and coachability

* Every player plays in each game - provided the meet the program’s requirements for conduct and attendance
* If a player misses the practice immediately preceding a game, they will not start in the game
* Play to Develop - winning is a high priority, but second to developing good long term skills
* Play time based on coach’s discretion, informed by ability, attitude, effort, sportsmanship and coachability

* Every player plays in each game - provided the meet the program’s requirements for conduct and attendance
* If a player misses the practice immediately preceding a game, they will not start in the game
* Play to Develop - winning is a high priority, but second to developing good long term skills
* Play time based on coach’s discretion, informed by ability, attitude, effort, sportsmanship and coachability
